Week of 9/10/00:
WEEK 126
Children's Records
I've volunteered to sort LPs for the local Public Broadcasting station's used record sale.
I was doing it last week, adding to piles of LPs that someone else had started.
One pile was kid's records. The record on top was obviously Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
But there was something odd about it. I couldn't put my finger on just what, until I took a closer look.
Am I the only person who finds it creepy that Goldilocks is butt nekkid?
Or that Baby Bear looks ready to grope her?
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed!"
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed, too!"
"Someone's been sleeping in my bed, and...
Hey, Mom and Dad, could you give me about twenty minutes alone here?"
I guess that I've forgotten the part of the story that mentioned that the Bears' house was rat-infested.
I suppose it goes without saying that after finding this, I looked a lot more closely at the rest of the kid's LPs.
It's Mr I. Magination, the Man with the Reputation!
And the police file that's as thick as a phone book down at the pedophilia division.
Uh, the album title is "Billy on a Bike and Rip Van Winkle," even if "Billy Rip" does seem more appropriate.
